Back Xavier Rúbies Round Table III / Mesa Redonda III Xavier Rúbies holds a bachelor in Veterinary Medicine, a PhD in Animal Health and an Executive MBA. He has an experience of more than 20 years in the healthcare sector, at the beginning as researcher in pharmaceutical companies and latter in management and senior positions in several companies. As R+D Director of Laboratorios Hipra, a veterinary pharmaceutical company with an annual revenue of more than 160M €, he re-defined the R+D strategy and doubled in 5 years the number of researchers in house. In Hipra Xavier was also member of the Executive committee, taking an active part of the general business strategy of the company. Xavier was also R+D and Regulatory Affairs Director in IHT, a cardiology company with a revenue of more than 30M €, were he defined the new R+D strategy bringing new products to the market and establishing collaborations with universities and hospitals. He has also an extensive experience as Director of Technology Transfer in high level research institutes as CRG in the past and now in IBEC, focusing the technology to the market and reaching agreements with important companies like Sanofi, Abcam, Avinent or Bioiberica.
