Back Xavier Marti Round Table III / Mesa Redonda III Xavier Marti obtained his PhD in Materials Science in 2010 for his research work in spintronics. While working at UC Berkeley, he boosted IGSresearch in order to use spintronics-based technology from the nanoscale up to geophysics. The devices manufactured by IGSresearch are installed nowadays in numerous locations from South America to Eastern Europe. He is co-author of over 80 scientific publications cited over 2000 times, and holds patents as either co-inventor or co-owner. In 2013, he co-founded the incubator Penyalab at Universitat de Barcelona. He is enthusiastic about science dissemination and a TEDx speaker who has engaged over 35,000 followers in the web page "Magnets Solve Problems".
