The Gene Expression and Morphogenesis (GEM-DMC^2) Unit, part of the CABD (Andalusian Centre for Developmental Biology, Seville), aims at understanding the processes of decision-making in cell collectives that are responsible for the generation, maintenance and evolution of organ form and function. Research programs at GEM integrate analyses spanning from the genomic and subcellular to the organ and organismal levels. The GEM’s strategic plan, “Decision Making in Cell Collectives” (DMC^2), will expand GEM research programs into biocomputation and biophysics.
